Beacon13 is an online trade almanac: a structured directory of active web establishments organised by commercial heading for ease of reference. The project takes its name from the tradition of mercantile beacon-lights that guided traders into harbour, and aims to serve a similar function for those navigating the modern web.

The directory is organised across twenty-two commercial headings, from gaming halls and medical practice to printing houses and the building trades. Within each heading, entries are listed in order of registration. Each entry records the trading name, web address, and category of the listed establishment.

Beacon13 is intended as a reference resource for readers who wish to survey the range of operators active in a given field. It is not a review platform; the almanac records that a firm has registered, not that it is endorsed or assessed. Readers should conduct their own due diligence before entering into any commercial arrangement with a listed establishment.

Submission of a new entry is open to any active commercial website and is provided at no charge. Submitted sites are reviewed before listing; the editorial team reserves the right to decline entries that do not meet the almanac standard for active trading establishments.

The almanac is maintained on a rolling basis. Entries may be updated or removed as trading circumstances change. Beacon13 welcomes correspondence from listed establishments wishing to update their details, and from readers who wish to report an entry that no longer represents an active concern.
